Thirty Iowans have applied with the State Judicial Nominating Commission to fill the two vacancies on the Iowa Court of Appeals that occurred when Chief Judge David Danilson retired on Jan. 4, 2019 and Judge Christopher McDonald filled the Supreme Court vacancy on March 7, 2019.
The Iowa Court of Appeals will hear oral arguments Thursday, April 4, beginning at 1:20 p.m. in the Washington Area Performing Arts Center in Washington High School, 1111 South B Avenue, Washington, Iowa. The court will hear two cases. Following the oral arguments, the court of appeals judges will take questions from the audience. The hearings are open to the public, and the court encourages people to attend.
On Tuesday, April 2, the Iowa Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in Forest City, Iowa. The proceeding will take place in the Boman Fine Arts Center, 225 John K. Hanson Drive. The oral arguments are open to the public and will begin at 7 p.m.

City of Cedar Rapids, et al., during a special evening session in Des Moines, Tuesday, February 5, at 7:00 p.m. in the Supreme Court Courtroom on the fourth floor of the Judicial Branch Building, 1111 East Court Avenue.
