Investitures for Iowa Court of Appeals Judges David May and Sharon Soorholtz Greer June 7, 2019

On Friday, June 7, 2019, at 3:00 p.m., Governor Kim Reynolds will administer the oath of office to Iowa Court of Appeals Judges David May and Sharon Soorholtz Greer in a public ceremony in the House Chamber of the Iowa State Capitol.

Judge David May

Judge May, Polk City, was appointed to the Iowa Court of Appeals in April 2019.  In February 2016, he was appointed as a district judge in Judicial Election District 5C.  Judge May previously practiced law with Bradshaw, Fowler, Proctor & Fairgrave, P.C., in Des Moines.  He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri - Columbia, his Master of Public Health degree from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, and his law degree from Drake University Law School.  Judge May fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge David Danilson.

Judge Sharon Soorholtz Greer

Judge Soorholtz Greer, Marshalltown, was appointed to the Iowa Court of Appeals in April 2019.  She received double undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Child Development from Iowa State University and her law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law. Before her appointment, Judge Soorholtz Greer practiced law with Cartwright, Druker & Ryden in Marshalltown. She is a member of the American College of Trial Attorneys. Judge Soorholtz Greer fills the vacancy that was created when Justice Christopher McDonald was appointed to the Iowa Supreme Court.
