Magistrate John E. Wunder, born and raised in Waverly, Iowa, was appointed as a Muscatine County Judicial Magistrate in February , 2011. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree at Wartburg College, Waverly, Iowa in 1977, and his law degree at University of Iowa Law School, Iowa City, Iowa in 1982. He was the Muscatine Legal Services Director beginning 1983, and then began his private practice of law in 1986. In addition, he was the part-time Muscatine County Public Defender from 1986 to 1998. He is a member of the Muscatine County Bar Association, Iowa State Bar Association, American Bar Association, and Dillon Inn of Court. He has been married since 1976, and has three children and five grandchildren.
