Judge McCall, Newton, was appointed to the bench in 2010. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa in 1976 and his law degree, with honors, from Drake University Law School in 1978. Prior to taking the bench, he was in private practice, specializing in litigation and trial law. He was board certified in both civil and criminal trial advocacy and is now a Judicial Fellow on the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Judge McCall is a member of the Order of the Coif, the Iowa Judge’s Association, the Iowa Bar Association, the Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers and the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He has three daughters.
